INSURANCE POLICY & INFORMATION

Our PRESTIGE insurance includes:

• Third party liability
  Covers the damage you inflict on third parties with your rented vehicle. This damage can be either material or physical.
• Theft and vandalism protection coverage
  Covers the cost in case of theft or vandalism of the rental car. In that case the insured individual who has signed the rental contract/agreement will have to pay in full the agreed excess. ATVs/Quads & Scooters are fully exempt and in case of theft you will have to pay the full amount of the excess (1800€ ATV) & (1500€ Scooter) regardless if the individual opted for the full insurance.
• Fire protection coverage
  Covers the cost in case of fire on the rental vehicle and in that case the insured individual will have to cover the amount of the agreed excess indicated on the contract.
• P.A.I. Personal Accident Insurance
  Provides compensation from the insurance company to the authorized driver(s) and passengers in the event of injury, disability or death caused by accidental events (when not at fault).
• C.D.W. Collision Damage Waiver
  Covers damage to the rental vehicle beyond the agreed excess in case of an accident with a second party on the public road. In an event of a consensual agreement between the two involved parties that the named individual on the contract was NOT at fault then the insured driver is exempted from additional charges.
• The insured driver(s) is/are responsible for the first 1500 to 3500 euros for damage depending the vehicle category (listed below). Minimum risk warranty super collision damage waiver (Full Insurance) which drops the excess to the indicated amount depending on the vehicle category you’ve booked is available to buy as an extra during your booking process.
• Prestige Rentals is in no way obligated to offer a replacement car in case of an accident. In case of a breakdown we offer a replacement for the time it takes to fully repair the vehicle of the initial booking. In an event that a repair within 72 hours is not possible then Prestige Rentals comes to an agreement with the named individual on the contract agreement of a partial refund and therefore full cancelation. Offering a different car option as a replacement is also an option after a new negotiation between Prestige Rentals and the named individual on the contract agreement. (Offers will be made strictly depending on vehicle availability at the time of the breakdown).

Insurance is void in the following events:

• The driver of the vehicle is under the influence of alcohol or any drug(s) including perscription that cause sleepiness/dizzyness.
• The vehicle is driven by any person not named in the contract agreement.
• The vehicle is operated on any unformed road (offroad) including any beach, trail, forest, etc.
• Driver failure to follow the Highway Code while driving the vehicle.
• The hirer does not report to the owner an accident or damage to the vehicle within 12 hours of the incident occurring, unless extenuating circumstances make this not possible.
• Costs to replace keys which have been lost or damaged and the retrieval of keys which have been locked inside a vehicle. (Key retrieval charge is 100€ island wide).
• Any damage caused inside or outside the car from incorrect or violent use from the hirer, passengers or any other individual.

DRIVER’S AGE

Drivers must be over the age of 21, over 23 for some categories & over 25 for ATVs/Quads. The named driver(s) on the rental contract must have a valid driving license for at least 1 year. 

BABY & BOOSTER SEATS

Baby & Booster seats are available to rent for an additional cost. However we cannot accommodate newly borns under 1 year old and in that case the client is responsible in providing an apropriate seat for the child. The quality of the baby seats are not in any way guaranteed but the customer reserves the right to choose the seat according to availability. 

THE MINIMUM RENTAL

The minimum rental is one day for renting any vehicle. (Subject to change without notice)

FUEL IN THE CAR

All fuel expenses are covered by the individual renting the vehicle. (There is no full tank charge amount.) The amount indicated at the vehicle’s cluster at the time of the completion of the contract agreement, the hirer is obligated to return it the same. Failing to do so, an additional charge plus 24% VAT will be applied and paid at the return of the vehicle.

FERRYING THE CAR AND CROSSING THE BORDERS

You can take our cars but not our ATVs/Quads & Scooters out of Corfu island using ferry companies but you need our pre authorization in advance. Mainland ferrying fee is 150€ extra and that covers the retrieval cost in case of a breakdown in mainland Greece. Premium vehicles on the website marked with Featured are subject to a daily limit in kilometers when are ferried to mainland Greece. This is to be negotiated between Prestige Rentals and the hirer. Crossing the borders of Greece is highly prohibited and will result in immediate legal action without notice.

HIRE EXTENSION

There is a minimum of 24 hour requirement for inquiries regarding the extension of the rental duration already agreed on the contract. Prestige Rentals will accomodate or disregard the inquiery based on availability. In an event of requested vehicle unavailability, Prestige Rentals may offer and re-negotiate an alternative vehicle.

TRAFFIC FINES & PARKING TICKETS

The named individual(s) on the contract agreement is fully responsible and legally obligated by his signature for any parking and/or traffic offences/violations that may be commited for the duration of the rental agreement.  

ADDITIONAL DRIVER(S)

Prestige Rentals offers an additional driver option free of charge. Any added drivers beyond that are subject to a charge of 4€ per day. Only the named drivers on the rental agreement can legally drive the vehicle and are therefored insured. If an anauthorised person uses the vehicle (cars, ATVs & Scooters) the insurance agreement will be void and therefore not valid. Professional hotel valet(s) strictly with independent insurance are excluded only for use at the private property of the Hotel, Restaurant, Casino, etc. Using the car outside of the property’s grounds is prohibited and the named individual on the contract is to be held accountable. 

BREAKDOWN

Prestige Rentals offers free 24 hour island wide mechanical breakdown assistance to hirers who opted for the full insurance with Europ Assistance. Hirer(s) who have the CDW insurance only are subjected to extra charges.

PICK UP/DROP OFF OUTSIDE OF OFFICE HOURS

We are available for 24 hours upon request. Instructions at the time of the completion of the rental agreement regarding.

BEING LATE WITH RETURNING THE CAR

The hirer is obligated to return the vehicle at the agreed time and location at the completion of the contract agreement. Our policy indicates that there can be a window of an hour free of charge. After the first hour the hirer will be charged an hourly rate of 15€ for up to 3 hours where then a full day’s rental will be applied to the total.

ACCIDENT

In the unfortunate event of an accident with your rental vehicle, you must immediately make contact via a call to notify Prestige Rentals and follow procedure by calling the police on 100 or 112 if there has been an injury. Our customer service advisors will assist you with communication with the police and/or the insurance company alongside with the other party. Prestige Rentals generally asks it’s clients not to admit liability to anyone prior of the completion of the police form. Where possible, hirer(s) are advised to photograph the accident site and the cosmetic damages to all participating vehicles. Prestige Rentals always aims and needs to obtain a police report that will help our insurance company to gauge who was at fault. The hirer(s) who was involved in the accident are liable and responsible for the completion of that police report. 

FLEET AVAILABILITY

Our company reserves the right to provide a different car model to that originally reserved of an equivalent or higher (more expensive) model type.

EARLY RETURN

It is vital and super important that you are precise with the return time of the vehicle when we ask you while we are filling the contract. Parking is extremely difficult and we need to have a clear time schedule of the cars returning and leaving our premisses. Give or take 20 minutes from our arranged return time is fine as it can understandably be attributed to traffic conditions. However any more than that and you will be responsible for the car until our rental agreement expires (arranged time of drop off on our contract/rental agreement).
